Apply for daycare
All new clients must fill out an application form, and complete a Trial Day of daycare prior to any daycare/boarding stays. We want to make sure our social environment is a good fit for your pup, and that they’ll enjoy their time here at The Dawg House!
If it has been over 6 months since your dog has attended daycare/boarding, they will be required to do a re-trial to make sure our social environment is still a good fit for them.
*Please note all dogs over the age of 6 months must be fixed to attend daycare/boarding at The Dawg House. From a socialization point of view, this is when we start to see unwanted behaviours related to hormones. For safety reasons & based on past experience, we have this in place - thank you for understanding!

Daycare keeps your dog healthy & happy, socializing with other dogs in a monitored environment. Socialization is important for the behavioural development of your dog, so they learn how to interact with other dogs & people. Daycare also helps relieve separation anxiety, and provides an excellent atmosphere for exercise for your dog.

Your trial day is to make sure your dog is a good fit for our facility! We require your dog to come for a trial day before being accepted for daycare or boarding services. A trial day is $52, and this payment is required to book your trial day at The Dawg House.

We accept dogs of any age, but they have to have the appropriate shots for their age.
We do require all dogs over 6 months to be fixed.

We do a “one-at-a-time” system. First we put all the dogs outside, then let the new dog in — and then we bring the other dogs in slowly, one by one. This ensures the new dog isn’t just put with the other dogs all at once!

Yes! The dogs are separated daily into playgroups of 10-12 dogs, based on size, temperament, & energy level.

Although we are a social kennel & the dogs get lots of playtime with their friends, they also get scheduled kennel rest times on rotation throughout the day. Just like us humans, dogs need their downtime too! Providing scheduled rest periods in a kennel environment allows them to recharge their batteries, regroup, and relax in a safe and comfortable space. It also helps prevent overstimulation and reduces the risk of exhaustion, or stress-related behaviours.

Yes! If it has been 6 months or longer since your dog has been here for daycare and/or boarding, they must pass a Trial Day again to make sure our social environment is still a good fit for them.
This is because a lot can happen in 6 months - dogs personalities can change due to age, health conditions, life events, etc so it's to ensure everyone's safety - your dog, and all of our staff. To avoid having to do a re-trial, make sure your dog attends daycare/boarding every few weeks/months to stay comfortable with our environment.
Starting January 1, 2023, we switched to a monthly subscription-based daycare. See the FAQ’s below for more info about this!
Subscription Daycare FAQs

A subscription-based daycare allows us to have more controlled & predictable play groups, as the majority of the dogs will be the same from week to week. We can set your dog up for success in a group they'll do well in, and they will develop friendships & can look forward to seeing their pals each time they come to daycare.
It's just like if you were in school with the same group of people each week in class - you know what to expect, and it helps to ease your mind! This is the same for the dogs.

You will be signed up for a monthly recurring payment for the subscription plan that you have chosen. You have until the 20th of the month to cancel the following month if you wish to do so. Once you have signed up for a subscription, that day is yours if you are able to attend or not.

We will need a Credit card/Visa Debit card from you and it will be set up as a monthly payment on the 1st of each month.

If your pup is boarding over a day that your subscription covers, there will be a discount on your bill for the daycare day.

If you are able to let us know you can’t make it that is always encouraged as a courtesy.

You are welcome to have a 10 pass (expires after 6 months) on top of your subscription, or pay-per-day for the extra days you may need. Keep in mind these spots are limited and first come first serve!

Unfortunately your subscription is only good for the day that you have signed up for. If you would like another day that week and there is space, we are happy to accommodate!

As long as there is space, you are more than welcome to sign up for extra subscription days at a prorated price!

You can make up for the Stat by choosing 1 day with in the same month that we have space.

We will still have a drop in option for those who wish to book day by day - this will be at a higher rate to accommodate the flexibility and the dogs who do not come on a regular basis.

Our Subscription days are based on $30 per day for the first dog, and an additional $25 per day for each extra dog. Please contact us for to find the right subscription for your pup(s).
Our 6-Month Flex Pass allows more flexibility for those who need it. The 10 passes in our 6-Month Flex Pass expire 6 months from date of purchase.
Our drop in fee for those who don’t come very often is $43 per day for the 1st dog with an additional $25 per day for each extra dog .

Daycare Drop-In Pricing

Drop-in daycare cancellation policy: we require notice by 12pm the day prior to avoid cancellation fees.
